Michelle Ko (she/her) is a Korean-American actress, singer, director currently based in Chicago, Illinois, and San Marcos, Texas. She will be graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Texas State University in May 2027.
Michelle's artisitic passions started in middle school where she then branched out to community and regional theater. She performed musicals and new works across San Antonio/Austin, Texas and Chicago. She was nominated for a B.iden Payne Oustanding Young Performer Award in Austin and was a 3 time finalist for the Joci Awards through the Majestic Empire Foundation. Most recently she performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with world famous musical improv group Baby Wants Candy in their musical project Grimm AF.
Her passion stems from a deep curiosity about connection/community. She is committed through her artistic roles to foster inclusive, safe, and creative environments where collaboration and honest conversation can thrive. She tries to exemplify such principles in both her creative practice and her everyday relationships, seeing these values as an essential key to both artistry and life.
When she is not performing, she is watching tv/movies, experimenting with glam/drag makeup, crocheting, and enjoys sleeping in whenever she can! She creates song covers of musical theater and pop/rock songs on her music account on Instagram @musical.covs!
